We believe this reflects what we do as a building company, most of our projects are done in situ, everything from in-home consults, simple bathroom upgrades to full scale renovations, even a summer deck.

Our Story

We are David and Sam (Samantha), proud owners of Insitu Building.

Our journey in the building and property industries began early in life, and that long-standing connection is reflected in the passion we bring to both our work and our business.

Insitu Building was established in March 2020, just as New Zealand entered a nationwide lockdown. At the time, David was employed as a builder but faced uncertainty around job security. It was the perfect moment to take a leap and start something of our own.

Sam was working as a Property Manager for a major real estate company when she identified a clear gap in the market: the need for qualified builders to complete work for property management companies. Too often, unlicensed handymen were completing jobs that required the skills and knowledge of trained professionals.

David began offering his services to the property managers, providing reassurance that the work was being carried out correctly, safely, and in full compliance with the Building Code.

After welcoming our daughter, Sam decided to step away from her role in property management and join the business full-time to help manage operations.

Since then, Insitu Building has grown from a two-person operation into a trusted provider of building services across the Wellington region.

Today, we proudly work with independent property owners, body corporates, facilities managers, and as an independent contractor for a residential design firm.

Our scope of work has expanded from general maintenance to large-scale renovations, including kitchens, bathrooms, extensions, and design planning.

As a small, family-run business, what truly drives us is the joy of transforming tired proterties into beautiful, functional homes that you can cherish for years to come. we take immense pride in the quality of our work, the relationships we build with our clients, and the reputation we've earned.
